While the design of this dress is very cool, the quality is not. The textures are pixelly and look almost painted onto the skin. The texturing is also a bit dated - the white smudges that don't quite pass for dimension.

I really don't think the dress itself is up to par.

The problem with this kind of logic, is it's saying that it's okay to let bad things pass. As far as I'm concerned, if it's worse than this, it shouldn't have been passed. I don't pass poor quality, myself.

Never let yourself slip into the mindset that, "Oh, this is bad/not great, but worse has passed, so it's okay." That's when the general quality of EVERYTHING on the site starts to decline. Always strive to only use the best quality of products.

I think the top has abit poor quality, but from there it looks good, and since thats the only problem about the submission, i dont think it deserves B-. The overall looks good, and im sure people wouldnt mind about a few lacks of quality if the most parts are good. But we all have different opinions, so its okay.

Unfortunately the lack of quality is pretty consistent through the whole dress. The solid black part is ok but the majority is that very pixelated mesh pattern. I like the overall look but I would have agreed with the others if I'd gotten in before the grade.

Consider it this way.

In an outfit that's a top, bottom and shoes, you're given a B+ because the bottoms are completely flat and judges recommend you get a better-textured pair of pants before you can pass. Everything else is good, but this isn't an uncommon practice amongst critiquers. In that situation, you have the opportunity to correct it.

In this situation, however, the dress can't be changed. It's 2/3 of the outfit, and you can't change or update it. These are the pants that the judges don't think are appropriate for the site. But, in this situation you can't make it better - you can't change that one detail that's bringing the whole outfit down.

I'm not trying to argue with you or make you feel bad. Only explain the logic. If you were to resub this, you'd have to keep the dress. And no matter how many ways you remade the look, nothing would make the dress better. Giving a B- on a poor quality dress like this just saves you the time and irritation of trying to improve the outfit when I, personally, don't think that there's any way to improve it.
