I don't think the skirt was the best option for this. It's a little weird looking around the waist. I like the idea of the top and hair but the top half and the bottom half feel like two different outfits. Since you can only change one thing, I'd change the top and hair to something else. I'm sure there are nicer nautical tops out there that would work with this if you wanted to keep it in the nautical theme. Or you could move it into the vintage theme, I noticed there's a nice new victory roll mesh by Occultbaby. I think you should bring back the top and hair in a different nautical look and go for a more casual look, and you'd rock them.

I thought about high waisted jeans with the top, but the top reminded me more of a pin up type look. So the more casual route looked weird with the top imo. Maybe black high waisted shorts?

I think black high waisted shorts would work, the waistline of the skirt is just really weird with a top like this

I found some shorts that I liked and had cute buttons, but the texture wasn't the greatest, on any of the derivations. x.x

You could try making your own? I've had to do that before

Making my own is hard when photobucket no longer allows 3rd party hosting so I can't see the mesh or textures on some derivables.

Did you try right clicking and opening the picture in a new tab? If not, you can message the mesher and they might link you their maps if they're still active or nice

Since you used this top, you probably should have opted for a skin with pushed together boobs. The cleavage is just a bit awkward with this mesh. The hair is still a bit casual for something like this as well.
